Indeed, it is a ground-breaking achievement that state-run postal service now joins the long list of Amazon-approved shipping partners including major players like FedEx, Blue Dart, Aramex, Gati, Ecom Express, etc. Albeit many international shipping companies are functional in Pakistan, this partnership will allow vendors and sellers to ship directly to Amazon warehouses; now this is what you call massive!

But this fixates upon the fact that how the execution will take place, and what action plan is in the pipeline at the moment? Keep reading to know it all!

With the announcement of partnering with eCommerce giant, Pakistan Post is all set up and planning to construct warehouses and facilitation centers to ensure streamlined and efficient services to all the exporters in the country. Through the official circular, it has been stated that the organization recently appointed senior officers from the 9 major cities to facilitate local vendors, manufacturers, and businessmen in getting started on the eCommerce platform. In addition to this, it further announces that Post Office is all set up to sign official agreements with foreign companies that are a part of Amazon’s supply network in multiple countries to expand its operations and provide excellent services to the exporters over here.

Moreover, Minister for Communication and Postal Services Murad Saeed has announced that around 2000 digital franchise post offices are being set up all over the country to provide quality services to the customers. Addressing a certain ceremony, he stated that Pakistan Post is planning to move beyond the traditional system of core postal business in the new age of information technology and communications.

To maximize and streamline the operations being Amazon’s delivery partner, the organization will also set up warehouses and facilitation centers across the major cities including Karachi, Lahore, Islamabad, Sialkot, Faisalabad. According to the government’s directions, the facilitation centers will be set up in multiple cities by 15th June according to the said regulations. There’s a great reassurance that the categorical digital transformation of Pakistan Post will help build their infrastructure from the ground up. Through digital agility and leveraging modern postal service infrastructure, Pakistan Post is remodelling its holistic services to provide the on-time delivery of mails, packages, and money to all the customers at a reasonable cost.

The current shift has successfully expedited the long-awaited ecommerce revolution in the country. With thousands of people applying for the acquisition of the digital franchises so far, the initiative would create hundreds of job opportunities in the country. In addition, many new start-ups will be launched, existing companies will be facilitated and our economy will strengthen in so many ways. Having an inventory of about 12 million items across all its categories, Amazon will enable sellers from here to go big in the international markets showcasing sought-after products from our multiple industries. It goes without saying that it’s a massive opportunity for all the people over here, especially our youth, women entrepreneurs, and the pre-existing export companies in the region. Our ecommerce joint secretary, Ayesha Humaira, has stated that vendors and sellers from here must comply with the quality standards over here, as all the shipped products will be completely refundable in case of any complaints. She further added that not maintaining the quality of your products will get your Amazon seller account blocked without having the option to get it back.
